“I've painted since childhood. Painting became my profession. Assigned by municipalities, individuals and companies, for instance the harbour of Rotterdam.
In September 2001, I painted during a promotion on Schiphol Airport. I made on-demand art for the passing crowd behind customs. When the Twin Towers fell, the world held its breath. In those months, I learned something that became my foundation for working with people, especially art therapy. I found myself in the position and capacity to be there for people of all nationalities, visualizing their thoughts and worries in paint. It became an important topic to reflect on together.
I usually perform on-demand paintings, for instance during promotions, while people are right there, looking over my shoulder. Our mutual reflections on the process have been the foundation for my Creative Therapy method. Allowing me to be there for people during their challenges and taking them on a clarifying journey”.
